Outreach in the Community

A major part of COAACH’s work involves engagement and outreach with the community.  We continually seek to expand our impact and presence throughout North Carolina.

COAACH Community Events

The COAACH team conducts and/or participates in a host of community events.  These events include the following:

  • Alzheimer’s Sunday:  Information and education sessions on Alzheimer’s at area churches
  • Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s:  Walks to raise awareness on and funds for Alzheimer’s and Alzheimer’s research.

COAACH Community Advisory Board

COAACH  was established to serve  aging needs in the community.  In order to understand the communities we serve, maintain effective communication and enhance COAACH’s network of strategic partnerships, the CCAB serves as an integral part of COAACH’s advisory structure.

The CCAB includes the following types of representatives:

  • Individuals mildly affected by Alzheimer’s disease
  • Caregivers
  • Faith-based organizations
  • Health care providers
  • Governmental officials
  • Policy makers

Community Health Ambassadors

COAACH is launching a Community Health Ambassador program designed to train and support community leaders who will help to advance healthy aging locally.  This program is scheduled to begin in 2014.
